Vishal Jhanjharia Elected as the New President of MCCI Kolkata

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata 02nd October, 2018: On 29th September 2018, the Annual Session of the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) was held at Kolkata’s Oberoi Grand Hotel. Almost all the members attended the annual session of the Chamber of Commerce. Among all other items there was the official declaration of the new president’s name. Finally, the name was declared and the name was Mr. Vishal Jhanjharia. Mr. Jhanjharia replaced Mr. Ramesh Agarwal, the earlier President of MCCI. Mr. Jhanjharia is almost a common face in the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Kolkata.
Earlier, he was the Senior Vice President of MCCI. Apart from this Mr. Vishal Jhajharia is a 1987 batch alumni of La Martiniere for Boys Kolkata. He graduated from St. Xaviers College, Kolkata. Having been brought up in a business household Mr. Jhanjharia entered business in his early youth. His business expertise spreads into manufacturing of tiles, International timber trading, shipping logistics and real estate. He was unanimously elected as the president of MCCI for the year 2018 – 19. However, the main focus of attention of the program was the chief guest i.e. the Honorable Union Textiles Minister Smt. Smriti Irani. Attending the function Smt. Irani said the over the last four years there has been a sweeping change towards betterment of the rural economy of our country. She also didn’t forget to mention that it was because of the various social schemes of the Government of India that has acted as the pivotal role in the process of economic development.
